Senator Rand Paul made comments recently regarding the "would be tyrants" that have decided that their will outweighs our Constitution. Senator Paul told the American people they just need to tell them no to forced vaccinations, mask wearing and shutdowns. One would have thought that these conclusions would have been arrived at by the American people more than a year ago. So many have surrendered their liberty without a whimper. It has been said "you get the government you deserve" and in this case we should hope that it is not so.
For those in New Hampshire we should support our Governor in defying the current panic that is fed by the loss of our liberty. He must hear from us and know that he has support in opposing such things such as requiring children to wear masks or be inoculated for COVID before they can attend public school. Governor Sununu should be following Florida's Governor Desantis in dealing with these issues. The businesses that have been destroyed due to forced closures and or forced limitations on customers must not be forgotten. Before a pay raise for public sector employees or spending on a variety of other items we should look at the losses these businesses suffered. Make no mistake the governments either local, state or federal have destroyed many small businesses with their panic over COVID. These governments must also be held accountable as they are supposed to be "for the people". The blocking of evictions is another issue that the Governor and legislature need to address as many landlords have been blocked from enforcing their legal contracts with their renters. What place does the government have in such actions? This simply is not within their authority and it is up to the states to stand against such edicts.
New Hampshire is known as the "Live Free or Die" state and it is time we live up to our name. Liberty cannot be the price we are willing to pay for the false security of federal government promises and their knee jerk reactions to COVID. One can argue regarding this but when the nation is brought to it's knees economically as many of it's citizens are currently, reality becomes obvious. Make no mistake COVID has been used as a power grab by the federal government and those who would aid in the loss of American liberty. General Stark knew what he was talking about when he wrote "Live free or die, death is not the worst of evils". We too who send our young off to war should not be so cowardly that we sell them out for fear of a virus.
